- I think something you're all missing is that 3dstudio has always (since
- ver 1.0) been extremely popular in the video market. One of it's main
- selling points has been it's ability to act like a robust CG. Many of the
- logos you see flying around on your tv's are generated in 3ds.

- Most of the companies I've seen buy 3ds use it in-house. Theres a huge
- market you never see... in house training tapes, annual reports, and the
- like.

- I haven't seen Lightwave yet, but if it's a lot better, then it'll
- do to 3ds what 3ds did to crystal 3d.

- Also, if anyone's curious: For an example of good use of 3ds, check out the
- back of Wired. Speer's started to use smooth surfaces.

- Can someone point me to similar images generated in lightwave? I'd really
- curious about what it can do in film, video, and press.
